Purchase on 10/27 through Tiger Direct's Amazon storefront, received a week later on 11/3. Right out of the box the TV looked great, watching hockey on Versus HD and Monday Night Football on ESPN looked beautiful, very bright. No motion blur on the tickers with TruM turned on. Hooked up my laptop through it's HDMI out and was able to watch video on Hulu with ease, decent quality too. Wish I could program the remote to work with my cable box and theater-in-a-box DVD player, but I suppose a universal remote will be my next purchase. LG Opus 42LBX 42" 120Hz LCD HDTV TV was an excellent purchase, I feel like I got a deal.

Black levels are decent for an LCD with an anti-glare screen. HD picture quality is excellent and LG Opus 42LBX 42" 120Hz HDTV set has plenty of adjustments. Very little calibration needed for spot-on color reproduction. SD picture is acceptable. The 42'' size seems to be perfect for my viewing distance of 7 feet, but if any further, I would suggest going for the 47'' model.I spent quite a bit of time comparing LCD's. Originally looking for a high quality set, I ended up liking some of the lower-priced LG offerings the best. I was also considering an LG50 and LG70, both of which are great sets. I opted for the LBX over the LG50 because the 120hz processing offers a very subtle difference on moving objects (especially scrolling text). The LBX got the nod over the LG70 only because there was very little appreciable difference between the two sets and the LBX was a few hundred dollars cheaper. As far as LCD's go, I don't think you can go wrong with the LG50, LG70 or LBX televisions.

Very pleased with this TV. It's an outstanding value for the money. That's the good news.I do have a few complaints: Neither the printed manual nor the supplied CD had instructions for removing the pedestal base to mount the set on the wall. At first, LG's Customer Service people recommended I hire a professional installer to do the job!! Finally, they told me to remove the four screws in a rectangle nearest the base and pull the set off the base. That worked.Second, the input connection for the antenna/cable is only on the rear of the set in a slightly recessed panel. When the set is mounted on the wall, 1'' spacers are needed to give enough clearance to prevent crimping the cable. An additional side connection would be useful. Finally, the supplied universal remote cannot be programmed to operate my Sony DVD player.Overall, though, a really good buy.

For the money this TV rocks! The picture in HD is breathtaking to say the least. I had it up and running in 15 minutes. I watched some serious action and no bluring what so ever. 3 HDMI inputs with the 2 component video hook ups handled all my add ons. Great TV Value!
