Gateway M-6750 Refurbished Notebook and is one sexy laptop! I bought it ages ago, and it's still screaming. For Gateway M-6750 price, I would nab it up. One piece of advice... ditch the Microcrap and install Linux. If you don't know how, ask around for help from a friend. New versions of Linux are easier to install than downgrading to XP, which you won't be able to do without a customized install because of the SATA drivers XP won't include. Any complaints here are likely Vista related. It's garbage. FEED THE PENGUIN!

Bought this computer NEW a year ago and it's still awesome. I constantly run multiple memory hungry programs and I have yet to stall this thing. My only complaint is that the power cord connection on the back of the computer can wiggle loose if you move it around a lot (I actually use my computer on my lap, but changing the power profile to dim the display when on battery power lets me know when this happens so it's not a major thing at all). The 3 GB of RAM is top notch and the HDD is HUGE. Love this computer.

Got one of these and the fan wouldnt work so it wouldnt boot up. Called Customer Service for an RA and a replacement. Customer service responded like a bored housewife. Now, I am waiting for them to send me a replacement (Yep, they charged my card again) while I shipped the defective one hoping they would credit my card (waiting to see) Ugh!

Excellent purchase. Loaded my old desktop via Windows Easy Transfer and in 15 minutes had an exact duplicate. Windows Vista does have some excellent features when using Microsoft software and components. The previous comment about wireless connectivity has been addressed by a software update via BigFix which is Gateway's method of updates...I did have low connectivity even when very close to my wireless modem initially, but the fix worked marvellously. 5 stars all the way.

Ordered one, sent it back because it wouldn't boot up - bad motherboard. Got the replacement and had same problem. I guess Gateway's idea of refurbishing a computer is polishing it nice and shiny and then who cares about making sure it works. Meanwhile I have to sit and wait to get two computers take off my credit card. Tigerdirect has been great over the years, but they need to drop this item like a hot potato!
