Epson Perfection 4490 Reviews
REVIEW BY: PlatypusElf Reviewed May 20, 2006
After having used an old multi-function unit for scanning glossy magazines and photos, the Epson Perfection 4490 is glorious. I have none of the issues with grainy images even at moderate to low resolutions and it's fairly speedy. It helps that the software is unecumbering and not at all a memory hog like the old HP software I was stuck using with my previous scanner. Although the three different user interfaces for the three different levels of skill are little more complicated than necessary, you can quickly move from one screen to the next if you need to make settings adjustments.
