Xpert DVD Maker USB 2.0 Reviews

Xpert DVD Maker USB 2.0 is the third similar product I have bought since past month, as an 30-year electronics specialist and hobbiest its a great product(for money you pay for it), any program I have (like Yahoo messenger, couple of DVD/Video editting programs, several wireless security video systems...)could recognize it instantly with greate video quality. It worth the money.

For simplicity the device is quite easy to use however, as mentioned in previous reviews, the software is a bit difficult to navigate compared to others Xpert DVD Maker USB 2.0 reviewer has used. The finished DVD video quality was disappointing. After trying it on a Vista machine as well as XP, the picture quality remained quite coarse on a 36'' TV. Perhaps it is a codec issue but there hasn't been one found to work better. There are other PCI capture cards that preform better than this USB device. If you are looking to copy your 8mm, this is not the product for you. If you are requiring some video input and don't care for the quality of picture, then it is a good deal.

worked for 30 seconds. Returned. Worst electronic item that I have ever used.

I was hesitant in purchasing this product for months after reading some of the reviews. My fear was unfounded after started using it yesterday. I first installed the driver and software on my older IBM 600E laptop. It did not work as well as I hoped. Then I installed it on Lenovo Ideapd Y510 dual-core machine, and it worked perfectly. Using the software that came with it, I was able to capture digital movie out of 11 year old VHS tape. I used the Mic-in to capture the sound and the quality is not bad. The quality of the video is acceptable as well knowing that you can't covert analog VHS to digital 100%. The lesson is if you want to use this device and software, you need better machine to process digital images. Anything lesser than dual-core will not work. I highly recommend this product.

I was a bit apprehensive but had a computer friend look at the info on this device and he thought Xpert DVD Maker USB 2.0 was good. So I gave this product a try. I verified that I had the system requirments- I did. I followed the instructions on installing. I had no problems. It recorded beautifully. I must agree with the one review about quality when watching on the TV. I have a 32'' HDTV and I think the VCR plays the movie better than my recorded DVD. Also with the video camera movie. It plays better using the video hooked up to the TV verses the recorded DVD. But I haven't checked to see if I used a better DVD-R.
