Great drive and it works with MAC OS. You need to access it through ''connect to server'' use admin as the user and 123456 as the PW.

Unlike the people above, I find the NAS device very useful and full of features. Don't use the software for file tranfers or web access. Map it as a network drive and use an FTP client/server for transfers and you get blazing speed (much faster than USB 2). There are no limitations in content when used WD MyBook World Edition II 2TB NAS way. You have to be smarter than the device to make it work properly.

SAD that WD would even offer WD MyBook World Edition II 2TB NAS unit, pretending that 1000Mb connection would mean anything. Sooooo slooooow compared to any USB 1 or 2 connection external drive...takes hours for typical transfers from internal drive via the Ethernet connection. Media files are not accessible via internet connection as well due to their imposed DRM against your own videos!...again very SAD. do not buy this at any price.

This NAS device will not let you share media files on your network. Western digital has taken it upon themselves to enforce copyright laws against people who buy their hardware. Google news about the device for full details, but do yourself a favor and buy from a manufacturer who doesn't assume their customers are criminals.
