Visiontek Radeon X1300 256MB PCI Reviews

A friend gave me Visiontek Radeon X1300 256MB PCI card. In my old Emachines T1860 WinXP AMD atlonXP 1800+ with 768mb ram it would run Half Life 2 pretty well on med-high and lower res settings with no AA but it took ages to load. Just switched Visiontek Radeon X1300 256MB PCI card into my Gateway GT5432 AMD athlon 64x2 5000+ with 1gig ram cuz it seemed like the cool thing to do. Loaded the HL2 demo and cranked everything up and added some AA in there, and Visiontek Radeon X1300 256MB PCI was beautiful. It lagged a little cuz my lack of ram with vista but it looked great. If you need a good PCI card, this is it.Flight Simulator X wont run very well on my system, maybe 2Gigs of ram will help...

I wanted to spruce up my back up system, but only had the PCI slot for video. I figured I would just get the best PCI video card and know that older system was maxed out. I did a lot of research and decided on this card. The cold hard truth is that no card (by any manufacturer) is going to run well off a PCI slot. I'm actually getting lower FPS now than with an OC'ed 5200. I average about 15 FPS on World of Warcraft on 800 x 600. That's not acceptable. That said, the card couldn't have been easier to install and get the latest driver. Visiontek Radeon X1300 256MB PCI was plug and play. My advice: save your money and upgrade your motherboard or even your system. I wasted my money on this.

I really like this card and it works. I know nothing about cpomputers so it was a pain finding the right card for me. I was dissapointed though because I was told by the tigerdirect staff to purchase this card over the x1550 card because it was a GDDR2 but when it arrived it was just a DDR2 card. and if you look at the product pictures you can see it says DDR 2 on one of the boxes pictured. besides that I have no complaints and it definatly impoved the graphics for the games i play!
