bought Visionman AMD Office Desktop to replace a computer i built 7 years ago. my old computer had 1.4 g amd t-bird processor, 1g ram, it ran circles around Visionman AMD Office one. loaded xp & spent hours getting drivers for sound & ethernet. sound never worked. very slow to boot up.

Shipping, billing issues to start with. Tiger fixed them with no hassle, long wait.Very sturdy, attractive case, plenty of speed for my home theater PC. Started up and ran great out of the box. This is NOT a barebones kit, but a fully assembled PC without operating system - exactly what I wanted.Only one minor hardware issue that is probably not a problem for most. Whoever assembled, I assume Visionman, substituted an LG SuperMulti optical drive for the LiteOn drive that was listed in the ad. For most this will be no problem, but I'm using Linux and with the generic drivers the LG produces a choppy read/rip on CSS-encrypted movies. I read afterward in a review that this was a problem at certain speeds, and I have found an acceptable workaround myself. I wouldn't expect a Windows user to have a problem as there has been a subsequent firmware upgrade.
