I was unsure about the reliablity of TRENDnet Gigabit Adapter product because of bad reputations on Trendnet products on the web. TRENDnet Gigabit Adapter product, however, does its job smoothly. Few things you have to think are 1) this product does not support jumbo frame of 9k and 2) You must have a powerful enough CPU to get the full advantage of its speed. I put this thing on my file server with an antique Duron 750. When the speed gets to the 14%(around 140Mbps), the cpu load is full and the speed cannot get any faster. Overcloecking it to 850 gave me 2% more, which doesn't change things much.

This is a pretty good ethercard. No complaints about performance. It might not do 9K jumbo frames, but will do 7200 byte jumbo frames.The main issue i have is that the Realtek controller chip on it runs very hot; the back of the card under the chip is too hot to touch. It doesn't bode well for the long term life of the card. i'll glue on some heatsinks and we'll see.

Great deal, great specs, terrible card! I bought two of these to give a client a taste of gigabit over his existing 100mbps network, and TRENDnet Gigabit Adapter was a complete disaster. They both installed fine, everything seemed good, but then a few days later the staff there said the network was actually running SLOWER than before, and within a week it completely failed to connect to the network resources. Quite disappointing because I've had good success with TrendNet products in the past.
