Toshiba Satellite A205-S5852 Laptop computer has virtually the same features as the L355-S7811 except for the wider screen/keyboard in the L355. However, Toshiba Satellite A205-S5852 computer has an extra USB port to compensate. I have found this computer operating perfectly so far, and the shipping and handling by Tiger Direct flawless. I use this computer as a back up for my desk top, but it has great features for the price and would be a fine ''only'' computer for most average users.

This computer will only recognize 3GB of ram because in most computers Tiger Direct sells it only installs a Windows 32MB operating system. It would have to have a 64MB operating syatem to recognize more ram. I had this problem with a computer I recently purchased from them. But you could always buy the $200 Windows 64MB CD and install.

I can't stop talking about how much I like this LapTop, the only thing I did was had more memory, but this is not needed for most people's use!Has Great Toshiba software tools and player, runs cool and quite and smooth, picture/video quality is very nice. and Windows Vista Home Premium is very nice. No troubles at all plugging and playing this unit! A BIG YES form me to Toshiba!Max

This laptop is powerful, has lots of features and is better than I expected. Jury is still out on Vista, but the laptop is great.I did have trouble with the wireless dropping out way too frequently and I haven't figured out if it is the wireless card or Vista. I moved a laptop with XP out of the same location and didn't have a problem. All drivers up to date for wireless and router. In any event, I have the latop connected via LAN card and shut off the wireless as Toshiba Satellite A205-S5852 Laptop was not a problem running a cable to it. Wireless connection is frustrating! No problems with LAN connection. I gave ''Quality'' a 4 due to the wireless problem.
