WARNING!!! STAY AWAY FROM DLP! My parents bought Toshiba 42HM66 42" HD DLP TV same TV 2 years ago when Toshiba 42HM66 42" HD DLP TV was first manufactured for $2600.00 (CAN), and 18 months later the bulb blew on it. It cost $600.00 for a new bulb, and when we complained to Toshiba they said if you get 12-18 months out of the bulb they deem that ''acceptable''. So over the average 10 year life of Toshiba 42HM66 42" HD DLP TV, and any other Toshiba DLP TV, you will need to spend $3000.00 in bulbs just to keep this product operating. To put this in perspective, it's like buying a car for $30,000 and having to spend another $30,000 over the next ten years just to keep it running. DLP's are the lemons of the television industry. Flat panel LCD's and Plasma cost a little more to purchase initially, but they'll save you a lot of money over their product life. Again, AVOID DLP, they are manufactured to fail.

I have had this TV for about a month now and I am very impressed. While it is not as clear as the Samsung or Philips lcd TV's it is about a third of their price. For the current price this TV is hard to beat. Beware though if you order this and tiger direct ships it via freight you will have to call the freight place and make an appointment for delivery. No one told me this and it sat at the freight warehouse a week before I could get the info from tiger direct, a month for total shipping. I wasn't real happy with that but the TV is nice.

I got this tv to replace a 1 year old Magnavox 55''hd projection tv because I wanted a DLP, and I must say this tv is great,the smaller width of this tv allows me to put it closer to the wall. the clarity of the picture and sound quality far exceeded my old tv,the picture is crisp and clear and the sound is almost perfect it has equalizing sound even during commercials.I also use this tv to play Xbox 360 and the 720P or 1080I is just flawless it is so clear and just makes the games look so much better, as for dvd's I have an HD DVD player and it just takes your breath away, my old tv didnt look near this good, The hd is awesome, it really makes watching tv more enjoyable.This tv has a superb picture. My old tv was hd but did not even come close to this tv's picture quality. I am 100% more satisfied with this 42'' over my 52'' the only complaint was with the remote, Toshiba 42HM66 42" HD DLP TV was confusing at first,switching from xbox to tv, but after I read the book it was easy, A Great TV and a Super Price

Great value here! After 2 months use, the HD images are competitive with plasma and DLP selling for > twice the price. The audio is really quite satisfactory-can easily be upgraded. Standard TV images, however are variable -superior with DTV in-set tuning rather than off the satellite. Many useful inputs including, alas one HDMI and a satisfactory remote add to an excellent value.. Well recommended.
