The Systemax Performance 2 Pedestal Server is built using the Intel SC5600 Enterprise-level server chassis, the pedestal optimized, high-performance S5520HC server motherboard, and integrates the power of the new Intel Quad-Core Xeon 5500 series Processor.
The Intel SC5600 Server chassis is maximized for reliability, scalability, and manageability in a highly versatile pedestal chassis. The chassis features hot-swap drives and redundant power supplies, the SC5600 is an enterprise-level chassis designed for performance and scalability.
The SC5600 Chassis combined with the S5520HC motherboard targets applications such as database, email, storage, and virtualization. The motherboard offers an increase in system performance without increasing the need for additional power consumption. The S5520HC provides fast memory support and scalability with 12 DIMMs of DDR3 ECC memory. The board also offers up to 6 expansion slots, including a good mix of both PCI and PCIe interfaces.
The new 5500 Series Xeon processors have added a myriad of new features, including:
