Great concept. Poor execution. Sylvania G Netbook Notebook unit loads fairly quickly, is light and quiet. In concept is great. Usage is a disappointment. The mouse pad is almost unusable, and almost every webpage required scrolling to see anything beyond the banner ads. Couldn't even see the entire YouTube screen without changing it to full screen, which the processor then couldn't handle. $300 is better spent on a refurbished laptop with an appropriate screen. Sylvania G Netbook unit would be a good buy if the screen were 50% larger.

I am impressed by the performace of this g Netbook. No one can beat the deal of 1gb Ram and 30gb HHD. I spent 3 hours at the CompUSA store comparing the features of the g Netbook with the Asus EeePC900, believe that the only diference in the perfomance is that the Asus has a better graphics card, on the g, YouTube videos play a little bit choppy, but who cares, this laptop works great and the open office 2.4 is able to open all the new MS Office 2007 format files withouth a problem, gOS linux is fun after you get used to it, but it is really easy, you just have to play with it! one remarkable feature is the long battery life (way beyond 2.7 hours) and the mini touch pad is fun too! i'd recommend a usb mouse. If you only want this notebook to check you e-mail, listen to music, write some notes and do homework and research, why spend $2k on a MAC or any other notebook! i totally recommend buying this. if it wouldn't have been for the choppy graphics i'd give this g Netbook a perfect score

I think the Sylvania g-Netbook is the most ''fun' computer I've ever bought. Upgrade this PC to WinXP (immediately!) and you will never want to be anywhere without it. Use a USB connected CD/DVD drive to install WinXP. (Don't bother trying to use a flash drive, it's a mess.) I also recommend buying a small wireless USB mouse. The touchpad works, but it's a little too small. This is a perfect traveling PC.

Ok the the first thing i will say is this system with the Gos operating system not a good combo but once u install Xp home or pro the G netbook weake up and become power full i like it alot. i was looking for the acer a150 but no where to be found here in miami so after doing some reaserch i found out that this g netbook is the ( everex cloubook) just renamed. When donwloading the driver on the sylvania website , each driver that they have for xp have another folder with vista drivers just in case u want to install vista basic . like i said just put xp with sp3 and this little thing want to fly.. is a great machine im very happy with my G netbook . I give 5 stars to this machine once u put xp on it .. ohh by the way if u dont want to put xp on it just go the G os website and download the Gos 3 with that one this machine works great too

Perhaps the one thing that I wish this netbook had was integrated bluetooth. While the mouse does take a little getting used to, all you need is a little practice and it's no hurdle.Windows XP Installed in about 1 - 1.5 hours, (typical install time), Installed Office 2007 enterprise in about 30 minutes, (also fairly standard). I was able to watch a streaming video from fancast without too much delay, there were intermittant .33 second pauses, however I had two installations going in the background.I do computer repair for a living, and bought this laptop as my field computer. I also decided that I would use it for presentations as well, (given the battery life). The one reason I gave it a 4/5 on features, I locked myself out of Linux inside of 45 seconds. When you first get it, you need to type a username and password, I mis-typed something because of the keyboards small size, i'm sure others have done the same.Added bonus: SDHC reader, (36GB SD Cards available)
