Sylvania G Netbook Meso is the 8th Mini-Note I've worked with and happy to say Sylvania G Netbook Meso is also mine. The Remix version of Ubuntu on here is the way to go. Vista, XP too slow. Suse too restricted. The other Linux versions are OK but this version is the BOMB! You'll need to download Ubuntu skype from skype.com for some reason it's not in the repo's but install is a cynch. The ability to switch between desktop and netbook desktop is fantastic. It also run's MSI OS X 86 perfectly! But the Linux is the way to go (even though OS X is twice as fast). Overall I'm very happy. Just wish Sylvania G Netbook Meso was easier to crack (literally) open the unit to swap out the HD and install the 2gb Ram.

Overall it is a great netbook. Con: come with Ubuntu, which I don't know anything about Linux. Keyboard size not as good as others, so need sometime to get use to it. 12Volt input, therefore my external battery cannot work on it. Also need to have an external CD rom to install XP, or u need to find a way to do it.Pro: Come will all the XP driver, or u can DL it from their site. The Atom processer was fast enough to handle XP, office, and CS2. 4 cell battery make it last for almost 4 hrs, just that 1 hr extra and light weight really make the different. as soon as I have eveything on it, I get away my HP -tx.
