Lacks real time monitoring, there is a about a three second delay per camera. Real time monitoring only works when one camera is selected. Also, you can only record one camera at a time which is a major draw back.

The hardware looks nice, but the software is much weaker than expected. The ad says Sabrent 4-Ch USB 2.0 DVR Security Surveillance will send e-mail, but there is *nothing* in the software or help page (a page - not a manual - be prepared to experiment) to support it. The recording cannot be started from the motion detection (which alerts to the PC speaker). My single camera feed had to be connected to hardware input 2 - go figure! Sabrent 4-Ch USB 2.0 DVR Security Surveillance is adequate to view the video on screen, manually control recording, and that's about it. I notice other Sabrent product reviews aren't real enthusiastic about the software, either.

Nice product, but the software is a major let down. You can input on all 4 channels but can't view all of them live at the same time. And you can only record one of them at a time. I'm looking into other software to support the adapter, but they should really let you know Sabrent 4-Ch USB 2.0 DVR Security Surveillance stuff up front. Can't fully review it without knowing what the limitations are. I'll post any findings if anyone's interested.
