The BlackBerry 7200 series adds support for Bluetooth, a brighter display, quad-band GSM and 32 MB of internal memory. This integrated phone, email client (with support for corporate email servers), organizer and web browser is the ultimate weapon for mobile professionals.

The 7290 follows the standard BlackBerry form factor-- a large 240 x 160 color screen placed above a QWERTY thumbpad. The screen offers plenty of real estate to view your emails, web browser content, messaging sessions and attachments. The popular BlackBerry user interface is here, too, which makes it easy to navigate the phone's functions. A jog dial is located on the right side of the unit for quick scrolling through menus and emails. There's also a standard 2.5mm headset jack that can be used with the included headset. A removable lithium-ion battery is housed in the rear of the unit.

Many of the calling capabilities folks have come to expect in a wireless phone are present in the 7290. The unit's Bluetooth capability means you can use a wireless headset with the phone for handsfree calling. A vibrating alert, speed dial, and a contacts list/address book that is limited only by the unit's 32 MB of internal memory, are also included.

You can receive emails instantaneously from up to 10 email accounts (personal and enterprise). With BlackBerry push technology, you don't need to retrieve your email. BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, allowing you to be discreetly notified as new email arrives. Support is also built-in for viewing email attachments (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, and PDF formats).

If your company has BlackBerry Enterprise Server installed, you can take advantage of the power of wireless calendar synchronization. Your calendar events are exchanged wirelessly and automatically so that your desktop calendar and BlackBerry device calendar are synchronized. All your Outlook meeting requests, changes, and updates are instantaneously synchronized instantaneously with your desktop. Make meeting requests, invite new attendees and more, all on your 7290. Users without Enterprise Server support can manually sync with their desktop calendars and contacts via Bluetooth or USB using the included BlackBerry Desktop software.

Use the 7290's Web browser to access the Internet from the palm of your hand. Browse Web sites, get up-to-date stock quotes, read the latest news, check weather reports and more. Wireless text messaging is also supported by the 7290.

The 7290 ships with a number of tools, including a calculator with a unit converter and a to-do list. The unit's software is based on the Java platform, meaning Java-compatible games and applications can be added to the device.

The RIM BlackBerry 7290 weighs 4.9 ounces and measures 4.5 x 2.9 x 0.9 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 4 hours of digital talk time, and up to 9 days of digital standby time. It runs on the 800/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS frequencies.

Bluetooth eliminates cables/wires /cords between devices, such as mobile phones and headsets, and provides services when devices are in close proximity to one another. First of all Thanks you TigerDirect! Absolutely perfect timing and customer service. I ordered the 7290 on Tuesday the 4th sept and got it friday the 7th. I had a 7290 last year. Broke it. Bought the treo 680. Broke the 680. I bought the 7290 again. Just missed the efficiency of RIM Blackberry 7290 Black GSM PDA Cell Phone phone in accomplishing just about every task.RIM Blackberry 7290 GSM PDA phone is by far the most software efficient PDA phone I ever had. In just few clicks you can write msgs, emails access the internet and calendar. It is extremely comfortable to write on this perfectly designed keyboard. The trackwheel adds functionality and helps navigating when holding the 7290 with one hand. Only cons is that the 7290 lacks a little bit of speed compared to newer phones of course but that's not a big problem. (from 1 to 10 I would rate its speed 8).I purchased a second one this week as a gift and tigerDirect already has shipped it and should be delivered this friday.TIPS: Learn the 7290 shortcuts.

Awesome product. All the features for a fraction of the price. Fast shipping in flawless condition. I just put my sim card in and I was up and running. I was afraid never ordered a call phone from the web, but now I will never order another through my provider. I will always order from Tiger Direct.

The 7290 is a great entry into the Blackberry world! With the basics, you can really get a lot done with the minimal features. No, the 7290 does not have Wi-Fi, however, internet access and clear reception is great. I like the larger Qwerty setup and not the smooshed together keypads of the newer versions. If you are new to Blackberry, have some fun and introduce a mate to them as well.

I was a little nervous ordering this cell phone, since I had never ordered one off the internet. I was quite happy with the phone and the fact that I put my cingular sim card in and it worked! The phone keeps a charge for a long time and I love the fact that I can store all of our information in one place. I am very happy with my choice and would not be afraid to order from Tigerdirect again. The Blackberry came 2 days after I ordered it and in mint condition! I would recommend this phone to anyone wanting a great phone at a great price

For all those Rogers paygo customers who were wondering if they could use this phone. The answer is yes. Slip in your existing sim card and you are away! Of course the ''refused data connection'' comes up because you don't really want to indenture yourself for 3 years to have push e-mail@ $ 25-$100/a monthThe audio quality is far better than that on the Nokia they gave you ,when they changed over to GSM, but hey RIM Blackberry 7290 Black GSM PDA Cell Phone was free.Voice and SMS messaging work without a hitchPaired a Motorola headset with the BlackberryThat all for now but I am certain will find other goodies
