Bad, bad, bad! No what computer I try to hook Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick USB 2.0 TV Tuner toy up to, it never can supply the sort of memory or power or speed that Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick USB 2.0 TV Tuner dinosaur seems to crave. It is always locking up, either itself, or the computer that it is installed on. There was one miraculous evening in which I was able to watch a movie in HDTV. Other than that, this hardware and it's software are simply not up to the task. Who are these people trying to kid? This is a computer parasite.After months of trying to get it to work (no thanks to Pinacle, I must say who just want to blame you for everything that doesn't work on this,) I bought a DTV Pal and hooked it up to my old ATI Tv Wonder analog inputs. Wa-la! Glorious digital tv, without the price, lockups or unreliability.Unless you are into pain, I would say look elsewhere.

This is my second TV tuner device. The software for this thing is incredibly slow, has to be stopped and restarted when your screen goes into standby. Adjusting the size on your monitor while multi tasking is a pain if not impossible at times. I tried it on XP and Vista 64. Loading it onto the vista imaged laptop was a disaster. The software is just too large and the amount of your processor this software uses is ridicules. Media center is much more simple and efficient. I got it to work with it but not perfectly. I dont have a perfect analog signal but cheap ass tvsget a better signal.

Well as the other post have made clear, the software is large. I didn't have this exact version. I had the Mac version if this tuner, and after one week with it I returned the tuner and the iMac. Wish I would have done more research on this before buying it. I thought my Mac was the problem, but looking back Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick USB 2.0 TV Tuner was the tuner. On the lighter side it did have a good DVR interface and pausing real time TV was pretty cool, but the software was horrible when it came down to the price you pay for it. I wouldn't buy again unless I knew the user interface was better and the CPU demands where lower. To give you an example, My iMac then was the 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo with a 128MB ATI Video card. My boot time before installing this software was 8-12 sec's flat. After installing this software the boot time was 32-50 sec's easy. Given if I would have removed it from the Start up menu it might have helped. But I wanted it to start up when I turned it on.

Device works great. It has a lot of features too. Plug and play out of the box with a very quick install. The stick does get pretty warm to the touch but everything appears to work just fine when left on for a while. Good performance on receiving a signal (I live just outside of Philly). I'm used to PCI tuner devices and saw this as risky (being USB and all) to get good performance... but again, it works great and I'm really impressed. Thanks Pinnacle! :)

I must be the only guy that didn't think this was a great item. I wanted it to work and write a great review but the performance was minimal. I live right by Lake Erie and couldn't pick up a decent tv signal at all whereas my handheld tv works great. The feed from cable tv worked well but that's no trick. I ended up returning it within days. Keep this in mind if you buy it.
