Purchased one of these devices as a refurbished unit to turn my USB Canon i900D into a wireless printer. I have several computers both wired and wireless on my network. The good: Had a very easy time getting the wireless print server set up as a wireless bridge. Wireless printing is working so far without any issues.I might add that my wireless network is fairly secure and complex. I use MAC address filtering; static IP's; WPA-PSK; and no SSID broadcasting. I did have to do some fancy configuring to work around my security, but was able to get the device online and working relatively quickly. For users with simple configs, setup of Netgear Print Server device really should be a snap. The bad (and Netgear Print is a big detractor in my opinion) is that the device does not support bi-directional printer logic. The means no printer status in terms of ink tank levels and such. Shocked that such an advanced device doesn't support bi-directional printing. For this it gets a 4 instead of a 5.

Forget ''print server'' - this is really an excellent 802.11g wireless bridge with a 4 port ethernet switch! I'm using 2 of these as bridges and they work great. So, if you want to network your new DVR, Blu-Ray player, PS3, etc - don't buy an expensive ''gaming adapter'' or bridge, just connect an ethernet cable to this device and you're done.

While I couldn't get this product working with my specific printer, I do not blame it, since it is the third brand print server I have tried with same printer. I believe it would have worked very well if they were compatible. Setup was reasonably easy - I don't like all the new gui interface required by print servers these days...

Netgear Print Server was a great buy for $29.99. Installation wasn't that bad as long as you follow the instruction that you download from Netgear. Since it is a refurbished item, it doesn't come with manual or driver. But you can download all of them from Netgear.com. It works for both XP and Vista. I have Samsung ML-1740 and Canon i850. Both are working fine from 1 desktop and 3 laptops. Now, I don't have to turn on my desktop in order to print anymore.

The wireless print server works great! You can't beat TigerDirect's price on this refurbished model. I had a little trouble setting up the WPS, but the key is to turn off the Windows firewall until the server is set up. Even though some of the documentation makes it sound like this isn't needed, it is necessary in order to locate the print server. Once you get this done, the firewall is turned back on, and it works like a charm. I've been using the print server for a couple weeks now, without any flaws, and it works quickly! The only negative, I'd say, is when you tell something to print, and then change your mind, or that you lose your bi-directional and so I can't see ink levels. All in all, it's the best option for me!
