Man...Netgear GS605 5-Port Gigabit Network Switch product is awesome. Stylish finish at an affordable price. I have a gigabit network at my house and Netgear GS605 5-Port Gigabit Network Switch piece is an extention for my family room entertainment center. It flashed orange with 10/100 mbps on my PS2 and flashed green with 1k mbps on my gigabit mobo. Great product!! Highly Recommended!

I like it but on the actual device itself it says ''activity lights are green at 100mbps'' but they are yellow for me at 100. So to have them green it would need to be connected to another gigabit device? I thought yellow was only for 10mbps.

This product is small and as a switch should be is very easy to install. The orange indicator light for 100mbps and the green light for 1.0gbps makes it very easy to diagnosis whether you are connected gigabit or not. I did have trouble getting gigabit speed on an Intel pro/1000 but found out that Netgear GS605 5-Port Gigabit Network Switch was my cat5 cable preventing gigabit speed. Make sure you use at least cat5e with any cards that won't connect gigabit. If possible use cat6 but that is about twice as much as cat5e. Overall an excellent product. Was ordered on the 29 and received it the next day. Thanks Tigerdirect

Highly recommend. I bought two of these from TigerDirect and they work great! Auto speed and auto cable type sensing, functions great and looking cool. Great reliable Netgear brand for oh so reasonable price! Pair it up with Trendware or Netgear gigabit card and you got whopping increase in your LAN speed! Only way to go if you transfer files or play game locally.

Don't waste your time and money. The warranty is worthless. We had an AC Adapter for one of these units that was DOA right out of the box. After wasting 2 hours talking to their New Delhi warranty crew (1.5 hours on hold), they wanted us to ship the Adapter back before they would replace it. It costs more to ship the adapter back than it's worth and the fact the Adapter was defective to begin with indicates very poor quality control. This is not the first time we've had warranty issues with Netgear equipment and we've noticed a growing failure rate. We'll be switching to a different manufacturer.
