I have owned the Magellan 4250 for 6 months now and I have never had a problem with it, I updated the firmware twice now and it is a very accurate unit my wife and I love it, Magellan Maestro 4250 GPS will automactically recalculate your route if you miss your turn and it only takes less than 5 seconds to do so, I would highly recommend Magellan Maestro 4250 GPS unit to anyone, very happy in Michigan..

After reading all of the reviews I could find on Magellan Maestro 4250 GPS GPS I almost returnd it without even opening the box. I changed my mind and am glad I did. I do agree the screen could be brighter and the BlueTooth function is nothing to brag about but it works as described. I installed the new firmware and I have no problems with this unit so far. I drive a lot and have kept it on in my car using routes even though I knew where I was going so I could test it as much as possible before my 30 day return gaurantee is up. Unless something unusual comes up I wll be keeping this.

My first GPS I bought a Magellan because it interfaces with AAA. Was intended for use by my wife and daughter. I am incredibly disappointed with this unit and Magellan customer service. I did update the firmware as instructed, but the unit is little better than before. It doesn't always know where I am, the routes it suggests often take me out of the way not matter what setting I use (fastest, avoid highways, etc.). I don't why they did this, but you can not get directions from it unless you put in a complete destination address (state, city, street, house number). CS is pleasant but in India. Get a Garmin and don't waste your money on Magellan.

I recieved a bad unit from Tiger Direct which they replaced while billing me for the new one and refunding the price when they recieved the old unit back. It is now at Magellans repair shop because it failed to power up after being shut off for an hour. The unit is 3 weeks old, one more failure and I am returning it for a full refund. Buy a Garmin. This unit has a history of failing.
