Linksys USB NIC Reviews

Linksys USB NIC thing is a piece of JUNK!!! There is nothing to hold your ethernet cable, It does not plug into the device, just sort of hangs on the side, had to use electrical tape to get it to hold the ethernet connector so it would work. I lost the return label or would send it back. I'm glad it is for temporary use, only until my new system arrives. The only reason I give Linksys USB NIC thing one star is because I can't give ZERO!!!

This works as a adapter but the ethernet cord keeps coming out it does not hold the conncetion well at all. Which I use as a internet port so I keep losing connection because it does not hold. Every time I move my laptop it comes unplugged. I would not recommend if you are NOT using it on a staionary Comuter.

Lightened burned the lan component on my laptop and finding this made me excited so I could get back online. The thing fell apart within minutes of removing it from the package. I never got online. I am taking it back because the little piece covering the ethernet connection fell off with little pressure from the connection. Poorly constructed, cheap, save yourself.

Don't buy this, it is poorly constructed and as others have said, it does not secure the ethernet cable well and Linksys USB NIC will fall out.

Somehow I didn't want to believe the reviews regarding this thing being built ''cheap'' - PRIMARILY DUE TO THE CHEAP ETHERNET RJ-45 CONNECTOR - issue... So I bought this item, hoping the RJ-45 issue was isolated to a few people. Boy, was I wrong... The RJ-45 connection design is the worst piece of garbage I have ever seen!! Very unreliable physical connection...the slightest movement detaches the cable from this product. You can get creative as I did using Zip-Ties. Don't try this device on any mobile equipment. I'm using it to connect my TIVO to my home network. My Pioneer DVR-810H recognized the device immediately and self-installed to its software. LinkSys products consist the majority of my peripheral PC Hardware items. I had confidence in LinkSys, thus I purchased the adapter (dispite the previous reviews). LynkSys needs to engineer a MUCH better RJ-45 connector. That's it...
