Linksys USB NIC Reviews

Linksys USB NIC device worked very well for the five years I've owned it. The problems I've noticed are that the throughput for the device is capped at roughly 25 MBPS, even though it is advertised to run at 100 MBPS. I think that Linksys USB NIC is probably due to the internal electronics. I know that some people complain about getting the conductor to align ''just right'' on the conductors, but really, it's not that tough--you just have to be smart enough to plug it in properly. It handles shock reasonably well, and if you've got this plugged up to a laptop, yanking suddenly on the cable will pull the cable out of the device rather than dragging your laptop to the floor (which is why I prefer it over the full-enclosure models). All in all, I'd say that this is a worthy buy.

It is the most ill designed contraption you can imagine! The ethernet plug has to fit in to this device at an angle ''just the correct way'' to then ''sit'' on the conductors under a cheap little plastic flap with nothing to hold it in place which means the connection is unplugged with the slightest disturbance. Save yourself the frustration and money- stay away from this product! Find a device that actually accepts the ethernet plug much like a phone jack.
