I purchased Intel DP35DPM Barebone Kit system so that I can setup a virtualization lab at home by running VMWare ESX v3.5 within VMWare Workstation 6.5 as virtual machines themselves and simulate vmotion using iSCSI. Intel DP35DPM system does the trick and the quad core CPU with VT enabled just takes a beating and keeps on humming along. I purchased separate Corsair 8GB DDR2 RAM for this system and it recognized it immediately without any problems. All in all, the system is great, but my only issue, although not a major one, is why Intel decided not to include an onboard floppy connector. It didn't stop me from installing what I needed to, since I installed Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 on this system from CD and am not using the RAID option and an external USB floppy drive did the trick, but I am sad to see that more and more motherboards are considering floppy drives obsolete when most Windows installations and repairs require the presence of one. Needless to say, this system is excellent!

just a quick reminder before i get started: Remember to add FANS!! this ultra case surprizingly doesn't come with any. DOesn't take away from the value here though. I got it when the rebate was still on so at 480 Intel DP35DPM Barebone Kit was a steal. the case is by far the best ultra case i have had (out of 3 thus far) no screws necessary for most add-ons even PCI cards! the motherboard has everything you could need. ide, sata, usb, firewire, even an E-sata connector. (no floppy connector though - but i haven't used a floppy in my last 3 systems) the PSU has very neatly organized cables - no more mess. haven't had a chance to really test the cpu as my digital audio workstation but installing vista ultimate 64 only took 20 minutes start to finish. (i remember xp pro taking 45-60 min on my p4) Can't go wrong with this pacakge! thanks TD
