The Genius G-Note 7100 is an invaluable tool for organizing your lecture notes, business minutes, or just keeping electronic track of important memos and ideas. Write on the Genius G-Note 7100 just as you would an ordinary pad of paper. The tablet records your pen strokes electronically, allowing you to save your handwritten notes for later reference. With 32MB of internal memory, the G-Note 7100 can store up to 100 pages. The G-Note 7100 is the size of an ordinary A4/Letter sized working pad. The writing area is the same as well-231mm x 332mm. You can transfer your digital pages right to your PC via a USB connection. When attached to a computer, the G-Note 7100 functions just the same as a tablet. Move the mouse cursor around your screen, draw pictures, sketch notes, and more. The two digital pens write and record in their two respective colors, red and black.

Nice package deal overall, especially with the pad able to double as a tablet. Using it with the included software is a breeze, though the proprietary format is a pain and the software hasn't been updated since Windows 2000. It includes a 30-day trial of a handwriting recognition package (OCR) that doesn't seem to be able to adapt to my handwriting. So, unless you have highly legible handwriting to begin with, forget any OCR conversion to editable text. One would also expect that a full version of a trainable OCR package be included. Without such, the utility of Genius - G-Note 7100 - Digital Note And Tablet pad is highly limited. Pens are cheaply made and the plastic cracks easily, and do not take standard pen refills - a big minus (though it includes 2 black and 1 red). Also, no drawing stylus is included so you have to be drawing on paper to use the pad as a drawing tablet with your PC another big minus. On the positive side, if you just need to archive copies of notes as PDFs, Genius - G-Note 7100 - Digital Note And is a great tool to do so.
