I just got Gateway P-6860 FX Refurbished Notebook laptop today. Only run it for a couple hours so far. So far, so good, no problems. First thing you do is burn a backup of system per the Gateway tool, takes 1 DVD.It does come with an OS disk, but the Disk is only the 32 bit vista P. Home. The installed verson is the 64 bit. I burned 3 backup DVD's just in case. Not a fan of vista, but since Gateway P-6860 FX powerful laptop is designed for vista I will leave it on it. I do plan to try to dual boot with XP pro. Yes, i know XP pro will only use about 3g of the ram but I am ok with that.

I bought this referb when Gateway P-6860 FX Refurbished Notebook was $699, now its $799. Deal of the century...I LOVE THIS LAPTOP!! Its fast and the 17'' screen is awesome. I have a T9300 cpu ordered from Newegg for the speed, but dont think its slow, ITS NOT! Believe me....You wont be disapointed with this laptop!!!! IT ROCKS!!

Much larger than I expected. This is a good thing though as it leaves room for gorgeous desktop graphics and better image viewing. I didn't think Vista was anything special untill I got this thing and I was blown away at the visual quality of the desktop and all the extra features. It's speed isn't as quick as my mom's Desktop but it's certainly nothing to scoff at. This monster can handle just about anything you throw at it. It runs all games I've tried on max settings, though I havn't tried Crysis yet. Invest in a cooler this thing WILL overheat while gaming. Battery life is good, I got about three hours chatting online and about two playing World of Conflict. My only issue with this thing is it only has 3 USB slots, but with the money you save on this beast you can buy a BlueTooth mouse. Tiger Direct was excellent at keeping me informed when this thing would be in stock again. Yes dont hesitate to buy, this thing sells out as soon as it restocks and it's obvious why!

This is absolutely the best computer purchase I have ever made. I bought this in August, 2008, and do not regret it for one moment. It is fast, handles everything I throw at it, and the 64-bit system makes Vista a pleasure. The high-definition screen is beautiful, which makes viewing movies the way they are supposed to look (the flames on Ghost Rider are something else!) So what if it is ''refurbished,'' that just makes the quality double-checked. TigerDirect has great customer service. Get one of these before they are gone!
