EVGA GeForce FX 5200 Reviews

EVGA GeForce FX 5200 Video Card card worked fine but i had to return it. When i was installing a fresh copy of windows xp my monitor turned completely black. I had to use my old AGP card and install the OS and the driver for EVGA GeForce FX 5200 card and only then it worked. When i get a new pc next year which will not have an AGP slot how am i suppose to install the OS? The performance of the card was not bad after EVGA GeForce FX 5200 Video Card was installed.

great card. + @ the guy 2 reviews below me, with the OS install problems with this card...if youre buying a new pc, then it'd have a video card [[most likely onboard]], which you could use to install the OS. ++ this is a PCI card, and even the newest of the new computers have PCI slots in them, so you could use this card. also, you SHOULD be able to install windows with this card physically in your computer without a problem.

If you have an old system, then this is the best card you can get for the money. I have an old Dell Dimension 3000 and a new LG 42'' LCD TV. Odd combination, but with the EVGA GeForce 5200, this card is awesome! The card supports true HD and looks fantastic with the large monitor. The price of the card is hard to beat but the performance is the best feature. I highly recommend this card if you have an older PC (with the old PCI slots) and you're wanting to do a minor performance tweak to get the system going a bit faster.

I bought this card after I bought s 19'' WS monitor and my onboard did not support the 1440x900 resolution. I bought this card for the memory to cost ratio. I was disappointed when the card did not support the 1440x900 and almost returned it. THEN, I found a utility in the advanced section that let me create and save a custom resolution!! I created the 1440x900 and baddaBing!! Great card, great flexibility, and it allows me to do gaming that I couldn't do before.
