Bought EVGA GeForce 8400 GS 256MB PCIe card for use in a Home Theatre PC. Fan is loud and had trouble getting the DVI out to work. So far for simple surfing and video playing EVGA GeForce 8400 GS 256MB PCIe card is up to the challenge. But for an HTPC build look for something with a quieter fan.

I got about 18 months of use out of this model video card before five of the ten capacitors on it blew out in rather dramatic fashion. (There's nothing like a loud, electrical CRACK! to wake you up while computing.) I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else, so maybe I just got one made on a Friday afternoon, but I prefer to throw away my electronics after they become hopelessly obsolete rather than have them wear out (or explode) so I can't give this one a great recommendation. As a low-end kind of product (EVGA GeForce 8400 GS 256MB PCIe was mid-range when I bought it) it did work pretty well for what it is right up until it blew up, so I can't say EVGA GeForce 8400 GS 256MB PCIe was a total loss, but all things considered....

Good card for the money. Vista 64 bit rated at 3.4. this card is more for the budget builder who wants more than just integrated graphics.
