An excellent computer, it is refurbished and is sold for a great price!! I love it, it does run a little slow, but it is faster than XP!! I love it!! I wish the battery lasted longer than 1 hour and 12 minutes!! I really love it!! I am using it now!! It is my main computer and I would not suggest anything different, it is a lot better than a dell for sure. It is not a huge brand but runs great!!

Bought Everex StepNote NC1502 machine for my wife a couple of months ago. Tried everything to speed up the Vista Home Basic that comes installed but would always end up with very sluggish performance. Finally installed XP Pro and it runs like a champ. Still not the fastest machine in the world, but for the money its quite a deal. If you buy, go ahead and max out the memory and install XP Pro. Don't waste your time with the Vista.

I bought this as a secondary computer. I regret the purchase. Pros: cheapCons: constant overheating (on a chill pad), constant whole system freezes (hard shut down is only solution), will not maintain wireless connection, SLOW compared to XP even with additional 1gb RAM installed (1.5gb total--and I am anal about optimizing ram usage), cannot be upgraded at all other than ram (up to 2gb), have to leave their cheesy video player installed in order for Media player to work. And don't even attempt to play a movie... it's not worth the headache of stop and go video.Summary: I use Vista Ultimate on my main desktop, and I wouldn't change it for the world, Vista is the absolute BOMB... as for this laptop, I just spent another $135 on it--by installing XP Media Center (the only vers. of XP I didn't already have on a machine). Much better performance and all the cons I listed have DISAPPEARED completely! Imagine that... an xp machine through and through.

This notebook is actually one of the best deals I have found. The only downside I have noticed with it so far is that it comes with Vista home basic installed. With Vista I wasn't able to watch movies clearly, they would freeze every couple of seconds because Vista uses way too much RAM for this notebook to handle. I personally dont really care much for Vista so I opted to downgrade it myself to XP Pro since its lighter on RAM and more flexible for me. Trying to find drivers for XP was a pain though, none of the Vista drivers are reverse compatible. But other than that it is a great machine and perfect for my needs.
