Powered by D-Link 108G Technology, this High-Powered Desktop Adapter is capable of delivering a maximum wireless signal rate of up to 108Mbps when used with other D-Link Wireless 108G devices. The DWL-G550 is also backward compatible with virtually all 802.11b/g networks and devices

The new business-class wireless LAN utility included with this device displays a management tool consistent with the Windows User Interface guidelines. Key wireless information is displayed in an efficient manner while navigation through the utility is a straightforward and intuitive process. IT managers will also appreciate the Silent Installation feature of the DWL-G550. Ordered it on Sunday, received the item on Wednesday with UPS ground - FAST!In a P4 system: better recpetion than my old DWL-G550, but not a significant improvement.Generic XP driver works fine so far (5 days in).

Excellent range. With my Laptop card, I can only pick up 3 or 4 networks, with D-Link DWL-G550 PCI Wireless Adapter Desktop adapter, I could pick up 12 or 13. Read the directions, install the driver, shutdown, then install the card, that's the only problem I ran into.

For some reason D-Link DWL-G550 PCI Wireless Adapter card was extremely difficult to install on a Windows XP system,if you do buy this card double check your systems motherboard & processor, to verify compatibility with this product.Also make sure you have the correct & most updated drivers for this product before install!If you do have to call Customer Support on this card make sure your dealing with someone who actually knows the product!!!
