My order was processed and shipped same day, got it in 2-days even though Brother HL-2040 Monochrome Laser Printer was 3-day UPS ground, kudos to tigerdirect and UPS(for a change).Pros: Nice styling, the refurb I got looks and performs as new, it shipped with a sealed new toner cartridge, set-up (even in Windows XP Pro 64-bit) was seamless(after downloading 64-bit drivers from Brother's website). I really like the 250 sheet paper tray compared to my old inkjet with an upper tray. Spits pages out quick, after warming up for about 5 seconds. USB 2.0 connectivity is a plus, but not needed.Cons: Powering up takes a lot of electricity, dims the lights in my room more than turning on 2-21'' Trinitrons simultaniously. Got it last week in record time. Hooked it up and printed perfectly. I use it as my primary with an Epson for printing color photos. With the small size of the Brother, both fit under my desk nicely. I am extremely satisfied. My wife was killing me going through ink for the inkjet, now this is the default and she can print away!

Refurbished product arrived in ''as-new'' condition. It worked right out of the box and is a welcome replacement for a broken HP 6L printer. It works well as a dedicated work station printer and as a network printer (through the work station). Print quality is very good (comparable to the older HP). Contrary to other reviews, paper curl is not an issue (20 and 24 lb papers).

Awesome print. Great price. Got my rebate in about 4 weeks. It sits there totally silent, then I send a print and it wakes up and shoots the page out in a split second. $59 well spent, plus I got the extra year warranty for a few more $ and don't feel the least bit regretful.

At initial installation, these printers (purchased new and refurbished) were great, but I have purchased 4 of this style for my company and three have been probematic now. I do not like the lack of durability and short lifetime of these printers. I will not buy Brother brand again.
