Bigfoot Networks Killer NIC M1 Network Card Reviews

for $250 it is a horrendus waste of money. i've only noticed a 2-9% lower ping if any at all. i should have spent my money elseware like upgrade CPU or videocard to get better gains. overall i am dissapointed with my purchase. Bigfoot Networks Killer NIC M1 Gaming Network Card card would probibly be more worth it for people with slower connections like DSL lite..etc ..although for $250 why not just upgrade your internet connection.

This part would be best suited in a game server. People need to understand that this card will NOT make your internet connection any faster. Serious gamers in most cases dont even fully utilize the gigabit NIC that is already on any halfway decent gaming motherboard. Unless you're trying to milk that last ounce of power out of an old machine, (if you're having to do that, you should be looking for a new machine anyway), offloading the network stack from the CPU isnt going to make a real difference.

I want to clarify what this card will do. If you are playing online, you will not notice an increase in speed. Most high speed connections are around 10megabits per second, so roughly 1 Megabyte. So at 10megabits per second from the internet you are running the 10 for speed on the card, not the 100 or the 1000. You will only notice an increase in speed on your own network, the lan, and that's only if you have gig cards/ports on everything, otherwise your fastest speed will be your slowest card/port. Hope this helps out! So in other words, just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's better!

This isnt that good, it wont make your internet faster unless on a lan line. it isn't any better than a built in ethernet gig port that is on most new mobos!!!!!
