Beware, I am on my second card and having to send it back also. It hits 105c in just a few seconds and will stutter. BFG states BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC 1GB PCIe 2.0 is bad and shouldn't go above 90c. I believe quality control from BFG has dipped to a new low.

Bought the card on special so I got a good price but its still expensive for what it is. Fastest single GPU card available but its not that much faster then the 4870 for the price. And it has several issues. Your paying a premium here.1. check your temperature. A lot of these cards do not cool properly and will go over 100c. mine was good be others have not been so luck. 2. Flat panel scaling is an issue. be prepared to call tech support or look up the solutions yourself. 3. If your running a DVI to HDMI converter the Nvidia drivers have a bug. you will need to apply a registry edit to make it work

Just installed these last night and going from sli 8800 gtx to sli gtx 280 is a big jump.I game on a 30'' monitor and the 8800 gtx sli well,I could play at 2560 x 1600 resolution and get good frame rates but could not use any AntiAliasing.with the gtx 280 sli I can now turn it up to 4x and gameplay is still nice and smooth.Thanks ATI for making Nvidia drop their price.Gotta love competition.

''upgraded'' from AMD/ATI rig (over year old) to IntelXtreme/Nvidia rig. Slight improvement on frame rates, but my OC'd ATI 3800 HD crossfire rig performed similar. A single GTX 280 is not better than a build I made almost 2 years ago. Also, it is not better than an SLI 8800 or 9800 rig (actually it has slower frame rates than both my LAN mates SLI rigs). If you have Geforce 8800/9800 or ATI 3800/4800, BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC 1GB PCIe 2.0 card is not enough improvement per $ to replace that. In SLI, I would expect it to outperform previous generations, but Performance/Dollar not enough to replace those generations.Mine runs at 42C with Rivatuner running the fan at 60% idle and 100% performance. To be safe, take control of your fan with something like Rivatuner.For the money, I recommend going ATI crossfire if you are buying before January 2009 (after January you could take advantage of the BFG trade up policy).

Got a really good deal on this.. $350 after Rebate, $399 before rebate.. i was going to get at 260 but when i saw how cheap this was i went ahead and go the big boy.UPS delivered mine and i popped it in and Overclocked this thing till it screamed.. It runs really cool especially if you turn the Fan Speed to 100%. Idling at 48C and get about 65C on full Load. I have mine overclocked higher than the BFG 280GTX H20C Water Block Version and it's stable.. 690core and 1300 on the memory.. FarCry 2 does not come in the box. you have to register your product with BFG which takes a couple of days then they send Farcry 2 out to you and 3dmark and a flashlight haha.. Overall good Value.. make sure you download the latest drivers from nvidia.com as soon as you get it.the one's on the CD are Slower.Went from a XFX 8800 GT AlphaDog to this and i'm happy.. 3dmark Vantage went from 7500 to 15,000. i did think it would have a little more power than it does but i'd expect it's my CPU bottlenecking Q6600
