Product works great. Great Quality and Value. Exceeded my expectations. After many hours of searching and reviewing, I chose the DVD Express DX2 due to its hardware abilities to do all the conversions. Had no issues getting unit to work with my Vista desktop or XP Notebook. For Vista users, download the Vista Driver from the ADS Website and followed the directions of the ''Installation.txt'' file. My software included the ArcSoft ShowBiz DVD 2 software which is simple to use. After spending a few hours I was able to turn out some neat home made edited DVD's.

After finding the updated drivers off ADS' website tended to clash with my system, I decided to return back to the default ones that came with the CD.An important thing is, you cannot be multitasking while capturing video or your audio will go out of sync.Despite having set the capture mode to DVD quality, the quality it captured from my camcorder was atrocious. ADS USBAV709EF was almost like watching a video from YouTube blown-up at full-screen. I knew it wouldn't have very high quality since ADS USBAV709EF was on VHS, but even the tape put into the VCR the quality was 10 times better, then what was captured to the computer. Maybe its ADS' capture software that's flogging the quality, but I suppose that a low-quality back up is better then no back-up at all, especially if worst comes to worst and your original tape gets On the bright side, the hardware kind of looks neat.

Had a bit of trouble. Could not register the product. When loading the software with the device hooked up got an error message saying ''current drivers are not compatible'' installed latest drivers got same message. No support for product without registration but unable to register. The device works though not any better than my previous device from the same company. Overall I'm disappointed.

Contrary to previous reviews, I am using it on Vista Home Premium SP1 (32 bit) and it works great! Unfortunately, the input is analog, so don't expect digital quality, but recording directly to my hard drive produces just as good quality as recording to DVD and ripping the movie.

**DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU HAVE VISTA**!! Have had lots of problems setting up. Apparently it doesnt work if you have Vista. The vista driver update on the ADS website, does not work. Buyer beware!
