wow - what a cool device. i tote it around the house in 1 hand and am always connected to the web. xp runs very well on the 1 gb ram. bought the white keyboard model to use in low light situations. picked up the bundle with a 'g' wireless router for 299 and $2 shipping from tiger direct. thought the ssd was best for constant moving around. i am very pleased and am looking to buy the spouse one for herself!

Simple, works well. XP means familiarity and compatibility. And the stable XP OS is 7yrs old, and Acer Aspire One AOA110-1995 Netbook Netbook is as powerful as a fast laptop 4yrs ago: so it can handle it no problem. I like the SSD for bump-proofing and battery life. The 8GB SSD is too small if you intend to make Acer Aspire One AOA110-1995 Netbook your main PC, but as a second ''rover'' it is fine.I reduced clutter by getting rid of the McAfee anti-virus software, and un-installing windows components I don't use (like languages, etc). I turned off Windows updates (fills space), turned off System Restore (uses lots of space), and reduced the size of the pagefile. If you keep this PC lean, it can be quite snappy! I installed a faster browser (Firefox or Chrome), Skype, a couple of other programs, and voila, I'm ready for Cloud computing.I took a backup image of the SSD (used Acronis)because without virus protection, system restore, etc, I will be vulnerable to attacks. Now I can just restore my PC if disaster stikes.Lean, and portable!
