ACECAD - DigiMemo 692 Reviews

I'm starting out as a writer and I've struggled for years to find the time to type up my hand-written stories. I finally discovered and purchased the ACECAD DigiMemo 692 about a week ago, and I can't believe I didn't purchase one sooner. The tablet is nice and lightweight, so I can pull it out in a caf, in a waiting room, or in the subway/underground. The pen has a rubberized grip, which makes writing more comfortable, and the pen's ink is standard and readily available. I've seen people complaining about the paper size, but it seems that the 6 x 9 notepads work just fine. The handwriting recognition software (not available with the tablet) works very well, and with the training sessions, has very few mistakes. My husband tried it, and the software could even read his tiny chicken-scratch that even I have difficulty with. I also find the process of going through to check for accuracy helps me with the editing process.I can't recommend ACECAD - DigiMemo 692 product enough!

Very cool technology. Easy to hook up. Great software. No OCR software with it, but if you look on the web, you'll find a few that work with it. I guess ACECAD is going to create their own OCR ACECAD - DigiMemo 692 year. Plastic cap on the pin broke the first week. I'd suggest this to anyone who needs to log sketches or notes on their computer. Very cool.

What a time saver ... and safety net for those notes taken down in meetings or with vendors and contractors. Really! Now you can scribble in poor handwriting as fast as you like but later upload into your PC for safe keeping. This thing works as advertised -- I was skeptical. As fast as your can pen a note or draw a diagram, ''presto'' it captures all the storkes. Then you upload to PC. I convert into Acrobat PDF so I can then add digital sticky-notes with key words. And of course the PDF archive makes it for easy call-up later from those keyword tags.I found extra plain paper writing pads in 6 x 9 format with 100 sheets at local Target store. Acecad 692 instructions suggest limit is 50 page thickness, but it worked flawlessly. I've ordered now the leather case to dress-up my tech tool. Ths one of the more useful gadgets I've acquired over the years.

I recently puchased the digital notepad and was very pleased with the performance and ease of use of the software to display and convert the file to other types of formats for viewing. I purchased it to use for sketches for parts I am machining so I would not have to worry about losing the original drawing. I think this will be a great tool.

Pros: Software and hardware set up easily; accurately records handwriting and drawing; importing to Windows using bundled software is easy.<br>Cons: Odd tablet size, not readily available, and too small for my purposes; not much you can do with the saved data outside of the bundled software, other than exporting as an image, which is no better than just scanning your handwritten notes; software features are weak; no native support for OneNote; can't use for real-time input.
